The Hardy Family

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to look at our family profile. My name is Sara and I’m a software engineer. My husband, Shane, is a machinist. We are married and have two beautiful children. We would like to add to our family a child, or sibling group, ages 2 - 11.

 

Jasmine is 17 and a senior in high school. She is a very smart girl and usually earns all A’s in school, while working as a waitress during the evenings and weekends. She will be 18 soon and would like to work towards becoming a social worker after graduation. Jasmine loves children and looks forward to welcoming her new siblings into our family.

 

Jonathan is 11 and in sixth grade. He is an energetic boy who loves to play outside, read books, draw, and wrestle. He wrestles for his school team and with local clubs. He hopes to continue in college and wants to join the military when he grows up. Jonathan is also very artistic and spends much of his free time drawing. He is super-excited about becoming a big brother and hopes his new siblings will look up to him the same way he looks up to his big sister.  

 

We live in the small Pennsylvania town, Bellwood. Our 4-bedroom home sits on 8.4 acres with lots of woods and plenty of room for kids to run and play. We have a small amusement park nearby, as well as a playground and community swimming pool. Bellwood-Antis school district has one elementary, one middle, and one high school. We are a close-knit community where everyone seems to look out for one another. We moved our family to Bellwood simply because it is a great place to raise children.

 

Youth sports are a big part of our lives. Jasmine cheered as a young child and she played soccer as a teenager. Jonathan played football and soccer, and now wrestles year-round. We believe sports give children something positive to focus on and are a great outlet for extra energy. They keep children in good physical shape and promote a healthy lifestyle. Most of all - being part of a team gives a child a good sense of belonging and responsibility.

Other things we enjoy doing together are going out to eat, spending the day at an amusement park, or having cookouts with friends and family. And nothing beats the occasional lazy Sunday - watching movies all day in our PJ’s with nowhere to go and nothing to do - except be together.
